Yesterday's Half Pipe finals brought a number of fans hoping to be dazzled by the impressive repertoire of aerial stunts and tricks possessed by snowboarders participating in those games, and they didn't disappoint. Each snowboarder was allowed three runs through the Half Pipe with the single best score out of 30 winning the gold medal.

Mikko Kotila of Finland took home his well deserved second consecutive Half Pipe gold medal with the best score of 25.7. Matt Gustafson from USA put up the second best score of the day, 22.7 Finishing off the medalists was Tadashi Honda of Japan who scored 21.4 on his last run to bump off American Snowboarding veteran Darrick DeLao. DeLao put up his best score of the day on his final run, scoring a 19.5. He was in position to win the bronze medal until Honda snatched the victory and his bronze medal away. America continued its impressive performance in the Snowboarding related events, placing 4 Americans in the top 8.

There were not enough women participants so the event was downgraded to a demonstration instead of a competitive sport.
