In the women's curling quarterfinals, only three teams competed for the gold medal: Canada, USA and Slovakia. Canada, with a record of 3-0, waited to see who would win the match between USA and Slovakia scored 7 against USA's 11, and received the bronze medal. The USA will play Canada today for the gold medal.
The men's quarterfinal bracket had four teams -- Canada, USA, Switzerland and China. Canada beat USA 7-1, while Switzerland lost to China, 2-11. The USA took on China later in the day in the semifinal, in hopes of entering the gold medal match, and won 9-7. The bronze medal went to China, and like the women, the men's pool will see USA and Canada play for the gold medal today.
